DeEtta Rea Obituary (1951 - 2025)

Well, I met this little spitfire,snippet of a girl/woman, wanna be .I knew she was gonna be trouble from the first day. I met her ,in 1972, late June on a blind date that neither of us wanted, at that time in each of our lives, we just wanted to be left alone ,but our best friends, hers and mine got together and set us up, as a prank ,and it worked out much as you might expect.. you might think, Her an upper middle class white ,valley girl from a proud American Christian family in Silicon Valley, California…and Me a milk carton loser/delinquent ,poor White trailer house Trash, sleeping in his car most of the time and filled with rage freshly released on the unsuspecting general public from the US ARMY and Vietnam, ( IE; an explosive combination) put together,. The date was a disaster. We hated each other right out of the gate,we were from two different worlds. But as all best friends often do they push the gag too far..! they now were separately trying to convince each of us to go on a second date /the mission was to win over the heart of the enemy so that we might be in the position to dump the other and win the game, both of us reluctantly took on this challenge ,going on a second date ,on our best behavior sadly, this backfired on our best friends and we were married in December less than six months later ,now 54 years later, she won the game ! and my heart would forever be broken! but that’s not the end of the story. It’s only the very beginning of this journey. In the 54 years, that followed we travel the world from the beaches in Mexico to Europe’s castles ,The Austrian , Swiss an Italian Alps and salt mines ,the Konick sea the lakes and locks of Scotland, and North Sea and camping on the beaches of the France and Italian Riviera , climbing the stairs in the tower of Pisa and riding a gondola through the canals of Venice and many other beautiful foreign locations .back in America. She got a CDL and started driving an 18 wheeler semi as a team driver with me. We crossed the great divide many times and America as well. She and I were the very first husband and wife team to join the army as a team ,we worked as a general’s aids in South Carolina. We live through hard times and sometimes worse that might easily break a family, but this little snippet of a spitfire now a proven wife mother,noni /grandmother ,homemaker soldier and semi truck driver, and the concierge to Harris casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a good Christian woman now finding her final resting place in Katy, Texas.
