–

Houston, Texas

John Michael "Mike" David of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026 at the age of 71. He was born on December 10, 1954 to John David and Lillian Bailey in Fulton, Missouri. He grew up in Washington, Missouri, where he attended Washington High School. He enjoyed playing football during his time there. He then attended Missouri State University, class of 1978, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. After graduation, he worked at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley as an investment advisor. In 1998, he married Montserrat Solis Del Moral, and they had three children: Michelle, Michael, and Matthew. Together they shared wonderful years. Mike enjoyed reading the bible, eating good steaks, and watching movies (Indiana Jones, John Wayne, and The Three Stooges, to name a few). He was known for his kindness, charisma, and hearty laughter. His favorite bible verse was John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

He is preceded in death by his father, John David; mother, Lillian Bailey; his stepfather, William Jenkins; and nephew, Matthew David Worley. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lillian David; his sons, Michael John David and Matthew Maurice David; his wife, Montserrat Solis Del Moral; his sisters, Sandra Jean Worley and Ann Jenkins; his brother, William "Bill" Jenkins; his brother-in-law, Dennis Wayne Worley; his nieces, Maranda Sue Wilson and Marcia Ann Gaizutis; his great-nieces, Olivia Gaizutis and Chloe Wilson; and his dear friend, Terri Sagmoe-Lafargue.

To his three children and all those who knew him, he leaves a legacy of determination, optimism, and joy. His life's work was motivated by the love he had for his family and the intent of a better future. What remains are the values he instilled in the children and the memories he created.
