Rashida Emily (Rose) Constantine Obituary (1954 - 2021)

"Rashida Emily Constantine, known to most of us as "Rose/Aunty Rose", was born November 14, 1954 to her parents, Enid & Alfred Douglas, on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Jamaica. Growing up she went to the infamous New Day all age school and graduated from there. She then went to the YMCA where she studied cosmetology. As most of you know, whenever you saw her, her hair and nails were always on point. After cosmetology school, Rose began traveling to other Caribbean Islands, including The Bahamas and Haiti, where she practiced her skills as an entrepreneur. Rose migrated to the United States in the early 80's. She has lived in several states including Florida, New York and Texas. For multiple years she concentrated on being a daycare provider. In the state of New York she owned and was affiliated with several Daycare centers. Now that's a lot of children throughout the years, and she loved them all as if they were hers. Two things most of us know about Rose are, she loved her food and she loved to dance. So you know that cruise ships were right up her alley. Food and entertainment was her thing. Rose has traveled to South America, Europe and many Caribbean Islands. She especially loved the European cruise because she got to see the Vatican, the home of the Catholic Church, her Church. Rose departed this life unexpectedly on October 12th, 2021 at the young age of 66. "Gone too soon, never will be forgotten" She will be watching over every single one of us as she joins her 2 younger siblings, Cebo and Hope. Rose recently celebrated her 10-year wedding anniversary this past June with her husband Glen Andre who she has left behind, as well as her two step-daughters Trina and Glenisha. Rose is also survived by her 5 siblings, Edna, Phyllis, Norma, Hermine, and Huton; her 24 nieces and nephews; her 35 grand nieces and nephews; her 10 great grand nieces and nephews; her first cousins Dawn, Hansel, Blossom, Dolly, Veronica, Dudley and many more distant relatives and friends. Rose/Aunty Rose was a pillow of support to all who knew her. Well loved by many and she will be surely missed by everyone. ~The family of the deceased." Read More
